Here I am, attempting to blog for the first time. I know to some people, that’s not a major deal. To me, it’s big. I’m not a writer. I’ve never claimed to be one. Doing any major writing scares the crap out of me. Sure, the people that know me can tell you that I have no problem saying what I want to say verbally, most of the time. Unfortunately, it doesn’t work the same for me with writing. I may have spurts of writing from time to time, but it’s the time in between those spurts that usually stops me cold. I guess that is one of my few learning disabilities. If you haven’t guessed by the title of my blog, this is about ADHD – Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder. The basic idea behind this blog is to give you, the reader, an inside look into the life of an adult with ADHD. At times, it can be hard to get though the day with it, but, with enough management, it can be the key to your success. A really good example of that success is Olympic Swimmer and fellow ADDer, Michael Phelps. In the 2004 Athens Olympics, he won 6 gold medals and 2 bronze. In the 2008 Beijing Olympics, he won an unprecedented 8 gold medals, breaking Mark Spitz’s single-Games record for gold medals. Need I say more? It’s time for me to end my day. I’ll be back again with more info. Just remember, I not a doctor, I’m only someone that is dealing with my own ADHD every day of my life, until the day that I die. I just hope that the rest of my life is more productive than it has been.
